Uganda is home to a sizeable population of common chimpanzees, also known as eastern chimpanzees. These are one of the two subspecies of chimpanzees, with the other being the western chimpanzee. There are an estimated 5,000 chimpanzees in Uganda according to surveys done in the late 1990s and early 2000s. These chimpanzees live in a variety of habitats including rainforests and woodlands. They are intelligent creatures that live in social groups of up to 80 individuals.

With experienced park rangers as your guides, embark on a trek into the Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees. The trek duration varies depending on the chimpanzee community's location, ranging from a few hours to a full day.
Enjoy an unforgettable hour observing a habituated chimpanzee family in their natural habitat. Witness their social interactions, playful behavior, and the intelligence these closest relatives of humans exhibit.
After the trek, return to your lodge, exhilarated from the encounter, and share stories with fellow travelers over dinner.

Take a guided nature walk through the rainforest canopy, led by a knowledgeable park ranger. Discover the diverse flora and fauna of the park, including various monkey species, colorful birds, butterflies, and unique plant life.
Kibale National Park is a birder's paradise with over 600 bird species recorded, including the rare Green-breasted Pitta and the impressive African Crowned Eagle.
Alternatively, visit the Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary, a wetland teeming with wildlife. Spot birds, primates like the black and white colobus monkey, and other interesting creatures.

After breakfast, depart from Kibale National Park and head towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a stop for lunch along the way.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's most popular savanna park and boasts the widest variety of wildlife of any Ugandan park. The park's diverse habitats create a perfect environment for a multitude of species.

Enjoy a game drive in the Ishasha sector, searching for these unique lions and other wildlife inhabitants like elephants and giraffes.
Later, continue your journey to your lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and overnight stay.
