Rwenzori Mountains National Park

Rwenzori Mountains National Park is located in western Uganda, along the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Covering approximately 998 square kilometers, the park encompasses the Rwenzori Mountain Range, also known as the “Mountains of the Moon.” This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its stunning scenery, including snow-capped peaks, glaciers, waterfalls, lakes, and diverse flora and fauna. The park is a hiker’s paradise, offering some of the most challenging and rewarding treks in Africa, with opportunities to climb Africa’s third-highest peak, Mount Stanley.
